Installing Produpoint
For anyone who has a licence key. Three steps, about five minutes.
On this page
1 · Before you start
Three things, and you need all three.
-
Claude Code, version 2.1.224 or newer. Older versions
cannot install a plugin from an archive at all — the install simply
refuses. Check yours with
claude --version, and update withclaude update(or however you installed it). - A paid Claude plan. Claude Code is not part of the free Claude account. That cost is Anthropic's, not ours, and it is the one thing you have to buy separately — see claude.com/pricing.
-
Your licence key. It looks like
pp_live_…and it arrives by email. It is what lets you download Produpoint and what keeps you on the newest version.
2 · Open your Claude Code settings file
It is a small text file on your own machine:
Mac and Linux ~/.claude/settings.json
Windows %USERPROFILE%\.claude\settings.json
If the file does not exist yet, create it and put two characters in it —
{} — then carry on.
3 · Paste this in, and put your key where it says
{
"extraKnownMarketplaces": {
"yutom-plugins": {
"source": {
"source": "url",
"url": "https://dl.produpoint.com/marketplace.json",
"headers": {
"Authorization": "Bearer <your-key>"
}
}
}
}
}
Replace <your-key> with the key from your email —
including deleting the < and >,
which is the single most common thing that goes wrong here.
If your settings file already has things in it, add the
extraKnownMarketplaces block alongside what is there. Do not
delete anything. If you are unsure, copy the file somewhere safe first.
If it already has an extraKnownMarketplaces
section, put the yutom-plugins entry inside that one
instead of pasting a second section — when a file has two sections with
the same name, only one of them is used.
4 · Install it
Start Claude Code. If it was already open, quit it and start it again — it reads the settings file only when it starts, so the block you just pasted is not seen until then. Then run:
/plugin install produpoint@yutom-plugins
The name after the @ is the catalog's name, not the
plugin's. They are different here — produpoint is the plugin,
yutom-plugins is the catalog it lives in — and the command does
not work with the wrong one.
That is it. Start a new session and describe what you want to build.
5 · Getting new versions
Two commands, in this order:
/plugin marketplace update yutom-plugins
/plugin update produpoint@yutom-plugins
The first refreshes the catalog; the second is the one that actually upgrades you. An update only takes effect in a new session, so restart Claude Code afterwards.
Do not use /plugin install as your update command.
On a copy that is already installed it answers already installed
and upgrades nothing — so you would stay on the old version believing you
had updated. /plugin update is the one that compares versions.
The one exception: if /plugin update refuses with
not installed or not found, run
/plugin install produpoint@yutom-plugins once, then go back to
the two commands above next time. That refusal only happens on a copy old
enough to predate a rename, and it is not something you did wrong.
6 · Four things worth knowing before you paste
Your key sits in that file as plain text. Claude Code does
not read it from an environment variable — we tested this; the
${…} form is sent literally and the download is refused. So
treat settings.json the way you would treat a password file: it
is yours, do not commit it to a repository, and do not paste it into a chat
or a screenshot.
If your key stops being valid, you keep what you have. A revoked or expired key stops future downloads and future updates. It cannot reach a copy already installed on your machine — that one keeps working.
The download is checked for you. The catalog pins the exact
digest of the file we serve, and Claude Code verifies it on every download
and refuses to install anything that does not match. The digest for your
version is printed in the INSTALL.md that comes with it, if you
ever want to check independently.
Produpoint runs on your own machine. Your idea, your code and your files stay there. Nothing about your project is sent to us — see the privacy page for exactly what is and is not recorded when you download.
7 · If it does not work
| What you see | What it means |
|---|---|
| Nothing happens, or you are asked to authenticate | The key in the block is wrong, has expired, or was pasted with the
< > left in. Check those characters first. |
| This plugin uses a source type your Claude Code version does not support | You are below 2.1.224. Update Claude Code and try again. |
| Plugin archive integrity check failed | The download did not match the digest the catalog pins. Do not install it. Tell us — something is wrong on our side, not yours. |
| already installed, and nothing changes | You used /plugin install where /plugin update
was needed. See section 5. |
| A key that worked a minute ago is refused | A brand-new key can take up to a minute to work everywhere. If you tried it before it existed, your nearest location may keep saying no for about that long. Wait and try again. |
8 · No key yet, or lost the one you had?
Produpoint is invite-only while it is being proven on real products. Tell us what you are trying to build, or ask for your key again — same address either way: yutomshazion@gmail.com.
Installing means you accept the terms.
